Burleigh E. Lucas, Sr., 75, of Woolwich, passed away on July 12 at his home.
He was born in Readfield on May 24, 1932, the son of Dwight and Mildred (Albee) Lucas.
Burleigh worked in construction in Connecticut. He was also a lobsterman and for over 40 years, owner of a wood business.
Burleigh was a longtime resident of Woolwich. His biggest joys were going north, watching moose and camping. He especially loved his family gatherings.
He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers and sister, Phillip Lucas, Lawrence Lucas, and Elizabeth Parks.
Burleigh is survived by his companion, Beverly Smith of Woolwich; children, Walter Lucas and wife Sheila of Cundy’s Harbor, Patricia Thibeault and husband Paul of Cundy’s Harbor, Gail Grover and husband Steve of Texas, Jeffrey Lucas and wife April of Wiscasset, Burleigh Lucas, Jr. of New Sharon, Anthony Lucas and wife Cathy of Freeport, Brenda Hart of Bath, Sandra Johnson and husband Mark of Wiscasset, and Michael Lucas and wife Kelly of Wiscasset; brothers, Stewart Lucas, Paul Lucas, Kenneth Lucas, and Dwight Lucas; sister, Margaret Parks; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
Funeral service 4 p.m., Tues., July 17 at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn.
Celebration of life 6 p.m., Fri., July 20 at the Blue Moon in Wiscasset, formerly Tuxedo Junction.
