Candy M. (Smith) Wright, 30, of Waldoboro, died Oct. 28 in Portland after a brief illness.
She was born March 2, 1976 in Rockland, the daughter of Alan and Nancy (Knowlton) Smith Sr. Candy graduated from Medomak Valley High School in 1995. She completed the CNA course in 1994, with her favorite teacher, Marion Rector.
Candy was employed by Fieldcrest Manor and Smith’s Foster Home, both of Waldoboro. In the past she also worked for Mobius.
Candy was a devoted wife and mother, loving daughter, thoughtful sister, and a wonderful friend who will leave a fingerprint on everyone who knew her. Her smile will always be remembered and loved.
Candy survived many hardships, including being diagnosed with sugar diabetes at the age of 12; however, she never let anything stop her.
Candy was a caring CNA and CRMA who treated each person individually and caringly. She was currently taking an EMT course to further her medical education.
Her two greatest achievements were the birth of her two children, seven year-old Logan and three year-old Aaliyah.
Candy was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Clara Lane, and paternal grandfather, Arthur Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Wright; son, Logan; daughter, Aaliyah; father, Alan Smith Sr. and mother, Nancy (Knowlton) Smith; brother, Alan Smith Jr. and wife Veronica, all of Waldoboro; sister, Patricia Leach and husband John of Warren; sister-in-law, Deborah Scheonburger and husband Fabian of Knightdale, N.C.; nieces, Courtney and Emily Leach of Warren, Taylor, Morgan and Quinn Smith of Waldoboro, Naomi and Jasmine Scheonburger of Knightdale, N.C.; and nephews, Cameron Leach of Warren and Aaron Scheonburger of Knightdale, N.C.; aunts, Sandra Simmons, Barbara Morse, Ruth Prior, Tina Plummer, Karen Simmons, Valerie Wallace and Wanda Smith; uncles, Douglas Knowlton, Alfred Knowlton, Malcolm Knowlton, Shawn Smith, and Keith Smith; and paternal grandparents, Shelia Elliot, and Al and Harriet Cummings.
There will be a benefit supper Nov. 11 at the VFW Hall in Waldoboro. All proceeds to benefit her immediate family.

Celebration of Candy’s life 11 a.m., Wed., Nov. 1 at Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Rawley officiating.
