Carl Linwood Beal, 45, of Waldoboro, passed away Sept. 2 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
Carl was born March 15, 1961 in Damariscotta, the son of Mona Beal.
He attended Bristol Consolidated School to the sixth grade. After his family moved to Waldoboro, he attended A.D. Gray School, grades six through eight, and freshman year at Medomak Valley High School, later earning his GED.
In his early years, Carl did odd jobs, such as digging clams, carpentry, working in a wood mill and installing insulation. He moved to New Hampshire and while living in Andover, N.H., was employed by Polyclad Laminates in Franklin, N.H. for 20 years.
He then moved to Maine to be closer to his family. He installed satellite dishes for one year and was currently employed by Poole Brothers of Boothbay, for whom he drove a truck.
Carl was a hard worker and enjoyed time with his family, fishing, skiing and snowmobiling, although fishing was his passion.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mona Beal; and brothers, Gary Beal and Douglas Pickering.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Sheila Lowe of Thomaston and Felicia Ball of Millinocket; granddaughters, Natasha and Maysie Lowe of Thomaston; and sisters, Laura Cook of New Harbor and Deborah Schoonmaker of Forrestport, N.Y.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Fri., Sept. 8 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Graveside service 10 a.m., Sat., Sept. 9 at Harrington Cemetery, Pemaquid Harbor.
