Carlton David Crocker, Sr., 98, of Augusta, passed away April 14 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation, Glenridge Drive in Augusta.
He was born Dec. 9, 1908 in Bristol, the son of Roscoe and Nora (Reeves) Crocker.
He started his first job at Vickery Hill Publishing in 1926 and later went to work for Hudson Pulp and Paper. He was a foreman for them when he retired.
Carlton was known to many as “Brud” or “Pampy.” He enjoyed working with wood in his spare time and talked of fishing as a younger man. He lived in Carmel for several years but returned to Augusta when his best friend and companion, Maxine Fogg died.
Mr. Crocker was predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Dube) Crocker; daughter, Margaret Gaslin; and sisters, Allene Dwinell, Anita Pinkham, Louise Bickford, and Geraldine Paradis.
He is survived by his son, Carlton David Crocker, Jr. of Ft. Walton, Fla.; grandchildren, Janet Hickey of East Winthrop, Beverly Gosselin of Manchester, Carlton David Crocker, III, of Ft. Walton, Fla., and Joseph Crocker of Ft. Walton, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Shawn Johnson, Erin Hickey, Justin Gosselin, and Sarah Gosselin; and great-great grandchildren, Luke Johnson and Noella Crocker.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Holy Family Cemetery.
