Carol Ann (Alley) Emery, 69, of South Bristol, passed away peacefully on Feb. 21 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on April 8, 1948, the daughter of Ernest and Louise Alley of South Bristol.
Employed by First Student, she drove the local school bus, starting her career with South Bristol Elementary School. Her wonderful personality touched so many young students over her 30-plus years of service. She loved her job and loved watching the community children grow into young adults. She had a special way with them which made her a great fit for her job.
She was loved by a large community of which she has been a prominent figure during her whole life. She will be long remembered by so many for her kindness, compassion, strength, and outgoing character. She had a sarcastic humor that was unmistakably of native Maine descent and would immediately make you feel as though you had known her for a lifetime.
She is survived by her significant other, Chris Burns of Round Pond; sons, Stephen Farrin of Newcastle, and Jacob Emery of Nobleboro; daughter, Sharon (Farrin) Wertley of Pottstown, Penn.; grandchildren, Adam McPhail, Brady Ahern, and Ryan Farrin; and many nephews, niece, and friends.
Her wishes were to not have a memorial service or celebration of life, but instead to have all lives she touched remember her as they last had the fortune to interact with her. Please keep her in your memories and thoughts for the amazing and beautiful person she was.
