Carol (Nelson) Maurizi, 69, of Wiscasset, formerly of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J., passed away on Jan. 9.
Carol and her husband of 48 years, John, enjoyed traveling to Europe for over 20 years. They shared the same passion for art and antiquities. Her career as comptroller with Edelson Technology Partners provided her with a second sense of accomplishment beyond her loving family. She was a dedicated member of The Shamrocks of Saint Patrick’s Church, The Garden Club of Wiscasset, and the Lincoln County Historical Association.
Carol is survived by her husband John Maurizi; children, Louis Maurizi of Nyack, N.Y., Laura Paray and husband Paul of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J., Monica Littler and husband Stuart of Essex, Conn., Joan Maurizi of Olympia, Wash. and Susan Maurizi of Wayne, N.J.; grandchildren, Nicolas, Adam, Devin Paray and Charlie and Kelly Littler; siblings, Ingrid (Nelson) Janeiro, Rolf Nelson and Geraldine Nelson; and stepmother, Geri Nelson.
Memorial service 6-9 p.m., Thurs., Jan. 13 at the C. C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood, N.J.
Mass 11 a.m., Sat., Jan. 15 at St. Patrick’s Church, Newcastle, followed by a luncheon hosted by The Shamrocks of Saint Patrick’s.
