Carol Sideris Bailey, 68, of Watchung, N.J., died peacefully on Feb. 3 after a long illness.
A native of New Jersey, Carol and her husband moved to Massachusetts in 1962, where, among other things, she graduated from Jackson College, part of Tufts University, and worked as payroll manager for Little Brown Publishers. In 1966, she moved back to New Jersey when her husband entered dental school. In 1973 they bought a home in Watchung, N.J. where she resided until her death.
Carol was very active in the Greek Orthodox community of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield, N.J., acting as Sunday School Director and teacher for 20 years; as member, treasurer and president of the Philoptochos Society, a church philanthropic group; and, for many years, as organizer and co-chair of the annual Greek Festival and Merry Market.
Carol leaves her husband of 46 years, Sam; daughter, Kim; sons, Peter and David; five grandsons; one granddaughter; sister, Helene; brothers, George and Peter; and many, many friends.
Funeral liturgy was Feb. 7 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Westfield, N.J. Visitation was held at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, Avenel, N.J. Entombment will be in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, N.J.
She will be best remembered by a donation to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 250 Gallows Hill Rd., Westfield, NJ 07090-1109.
