Carolyn J. Burke, 69, of Bath, died Nov. 12 at the Mid Coast Senior Health Center following a long illness.
She was born in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Gordon and Jenny Turner Walker. She graduated from Dedham High School in the class of 1958 and went on to further her education at the Massachusetts School of Art.
In 1990 Carolyn returned to school at the University of New Hampshire, receiving her Bachelors Degree and her Masters Degree in Social Work. She worked in elder services for more than 10 years before illness forced her to get done. For the last 15 years she was a psychic reader and part owner of a retail business in New Mexico. She was a first responder for Lincoln County for more than 20 years.
In her spare time she enjoyed performing with the Bristol Foot Lighters, Lincoln County Community Theater and the Boothbay Playhouse, she was an artist and enjoyed working on the computer. Her greatest love was spent surrounded by her family and friends.
She is survived by her companion, John Mesich of Bath; daughter, Kimberly A. Young of California; son, Ronald A. Young of California; granddaughter, Caitlin A. Mahoney of California; two brothers, Paul J. and wife Rita Bright of Livermore Falls, and David and wife Debbie Ulan of New York; two sisters, Sheila M. and husband Norman Brody of Florida, and Dawn and husband David Morita of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
At the family’s request all services will be private.
