Mrs. Carolyn M. (Kaler) Miller, 75, of Shenango Township, Penn., passed away Sept. 14.
She was born March 20, 1937, in Bremen, to Andrew and Jessie Genthner Kaler. Then known as “Tootie,” Carolyn graduated from Waldoboro High School in 1956 and received her LPN from Presque Isle, Maine School of Nursing. She worked for UPMC Horizon, Farrell, as an LPN for 20 years and retired in 1989, and was a member of Central Christian Church, Hermitage, for 50 years.
Mrs. Miller fully enjoyed visiting Maine to spend time with her family and indulge in seafood whenever possible. She enjoyed being an active part of the life of all of her family members. Carolyn was a member of her local bowling league, and had a passion for helping animals. She loved her cat Smokey, along with all of her cats and dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marjorie Poland and her husband Clyde; and brother, Robert Kaler.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Miller Sr.; daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Miller of Shenango Township, Penn.; sons, Richard Miller Jr. and wife Kathy of Florida, Andrew Miller and wife Karen of Illinois, Timothy Miller and Jerald Miller, both of Sharon, and Robert Miller of Jamestown; sisters, Nancy Soule and husband Bruce and Jessie Wile and husband Mark, both of Maine; brothers, Howard Kaler and wife Sarah and Walter Kaler III, both of Maine; sister-in-law, Joyce Kaler of Maine; grandchildren, Jessie, Steven, Amy, Abby, LaVica, Randy, Kristine and MiKayla; great-grandchildren, Khloe, Mariah, Donavon, Kylie and Aislinn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
