Carroll E. Hopkins of Mims, Fla., formerly of Waterville, went to be with the Lord on March 11 at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Whitefield on Dec. 21, 1935, a son of the late Norman and Helen Hopkins.
He was the owner/operator of Carroll’s Carpet Barn in Waterville.
He attended Erskine Academy and was a veteran of the National Guard. He was a member of the Elks Club 905 and American Legion Post 5 of Waterville. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagles of Kissimmee, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years and companion for more than 26 years, Shirley A. Hopkins of Mims, Fla.; two sons, Carroll E. Hopkins, Jr. of Waterville, and Jeff Hopkins of Vassalboro; grandson, Michael Hopkins; stepson, Leo A Baillargeon, Jr. and wife Jill; brother, Sheldon Hopkins and wife Alice of Vassalboro; two sisters, Linda Jackson of Mims, Fla., and Marian Honnen and husband Frederick Honnen of Farmingdale; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service 1 p.m., Sat., March 28 at First Baptist Church of Mims, Fla.
