Charlene Jane (Riggs) Bjorkgren Parrish, 91, of Franklin, W. Va., died at Pendelton Manor in Franklin, W. Va. on Aug. 7.
She was born in Somerville, Mass. on Sept. 20, 1917, a daughter of the late John O. and Arlene (Holt) Riggs. Charlene had been a resident of Franklin, W. Va. for over two years, and formerly of Simpsonville, S.C., Port Charlotte, Fla., Waltham, Mass., Lexington, Mass., Round Pond, and Nashua, N.H.
Charlene graduated from high school in Waltham, Mass. and then attended Bentley College in Waltham.
She was the widow of Anton David Bjorkgren who died in 1969 and Leroy Parrish who died in 1984.
Charlene had been a supervisor for Sylvania Electronics and retired in 1982.
She enjoyed knitting and cooking. Charlene volunteered at Waltham Hospital and a cultural center in Port Charlotte, Fla. At one time, she had attended West Somerville Baptist Church and Beth Eden Baptist Church in Waltham.
Charlene was predeceased by a son, Robert.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlena Sharon Santry of Hyannis, Mass., and Karla Jane Ritcey and husband Everett of Waltham, Mass.; son, David Bjorkgren and wife Nancy of Franklin, W. Va.; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
There are no visiting hours. Graveside service 1 p.m., Thurs., Aug. 13 at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst St., Nashua, N.H. Friends are invited to attend.
