Charles Afton Feltis Sr., 62, of Waldoboro, died Dec. 6 at Togus VA Hospital. Chuck was born Oct. 13, 1949 in Damariscotta and was raised in Bristol by Bonita and Manley Parsons. He attended local schools.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1970 serving in Vietnam. After the war he came back to dig clams and worms until this past September when his health did not allow him to work anymore. He also worked on a couple of scalloping boats.
He was a member of the Pine Tree V.F.W. Post #887 in Augusta. He enjoyed his scratch tickets, especially Pick 3.
He is survived by two daughters, Tiffany Feltis of Waldoboro and Rebecca Parks of Missouri; sons, Charles Feltis Jr. of Waldoboro, Timothy Allen Blumer of Missouri, and David Allen Feltis of New Hampshire; mother, Julia Jackson of Texas; grandchildren, Siara Harrington of Waldoboro, Mary Feltis of Waldoboro, Daigen Pierpont of Cushing, and Tanya Brown; and many sisters and brothers.
Informal gathering 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tues., Dec. 13 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro followed by a committal service with military honors at 1 p.m. at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
