Charles Cecil Post, 70, of Waldoboro and Belfast, passed away March 27 at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast, after a brief illness.
Charlie was born Feb. 5, 1940 in Waldoboro, a son of the late William and Lois Small Post. He moved to Belfast and resided at the Hillside Home and High Street Group Homes.
Charlie enjoyed frequenting the local restaurants in Belfast and was a regular at Darby’s Restaurant and the Colonial Theater. Charlie had a presence in the local community and he made many acquaintances throughout the years. Charlie worked at Little River Apparel where he had many caring co-workers. Charlie’s favorite activity was putting together jigsaw puzzles. Charlie also enjoyed spending time with his friends and staff at home, talking at the dining room table as well as participating in activities. Charlie will be remembered for his love of life and his unique sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Lois (Small) Post; girlfriend, Merlene Grass Charlie, who was a special person in his life.
Survivors include brothers, Henry Post and wife Nancy of Waldoboro, Raymond Post of Scarborough and Richard Post and wife Dorothy of North Tampa, Fla.; sister, Patricia Post of Mount Joy, Penn.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life 11 a.m., Fri. April 2 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro with Rev. Robert Bellows officiating.
