Charles F. Gamage, 85, of Stuart, Fla., died April 28 at St. Lucie Medical Center.
He was born in South Bristol and lived in Stuart, Fla. for 29 years coming from Boothbay Harbor.
Prior to retiring he was a welder for the Gamage Shipyard in Maine.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served in both the Atlantic and Pacific during WWII and took part in the liberation of the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jeannette Gamage; son, Keith Gamage; brother, Arnold Gamage; and sisters, Amy Pierce and Cleo Barnes.
He was survived by his daughters, Vicky Holbrook of Boothbay Harbor and Deborah Stevens of Stuart, Fla.; son, Allen Gamage, of Stuart, Fla.; brother, Edward Gamage of Damariscotta; sister, Shirley Haley of South Bristol; ten grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Private service will take place at a later date in Boothbay Harbor.
