Charles J. Pichette, 69, of Nobleboro, passed away at his home on the morning of July 14. Born in Providence, R.I. on March 28, 1941, he was the son of Leo and Eleanor (Hackett) Pichette.
Charlie grew up and attended schools in Providence. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island as a mechanical engineer and for 25 years he worked for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. In 1999, Charlie and Fran, his wife of 48 years, retired to Maine.
Charlie was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle as well as the Pemaquid Watershed Association, and was a very active member of the Damariscotta-Newcastle Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Frances (Hein) Pichette; son, Nathan Pichette and wife Melanie; daughter, Traci and husband Kenneth Macfarlane; grandsons, Tyler, Troy and Jason; three brothers; two sisters; and his extended Baron family.
Wake 4-7 p.m., Mon., July 19 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. Funeral mass 11 a.m., Tues., July 20 at the St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle.
