Charlotte Jean Noyes, 77, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully July 31 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Waldoboro on Sept. 7, 1934, the daughter of the late Ruel and Edith White Orff. She grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools, graduating from Waldoboro High School with the class of 1953.
After high school she married her husband Edwin Noyes and worked for a few years at Sylvania Electric. In 1955 the two started their family. In 1959 she was the bookkeeper for Noyes Body Shop until 2002 when she officially retired. During those years she also worked at Gee’s Egg Farm and also for Evergreen Farms making wreaths.
She enjoyed spending time on a motorcycle and traveled throughout the United States and Canada. She enjoyed trail biking, camping, skiing and snowmobiling. She loved being outdoors, especially in her garden as she was blessed a vibrant green thumb. She was always there for her family serving as a waypoint for all of her nieces and nephews after they got off the school bus and was always ready for their arrival with an afternoon snack.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Noyes, in 2007; five siblings; and great-granddaughter, Sadie Elizabeth Rife, in October 2011.
Survivors include daughter, Lynn Rawley and husband Tim of Washington; son, Randy Noyes and wife Mary of Greenbush; granddaughters, Amy Rife and husband James of Claypool, Ind., and Amanda Diaz and husband Nate of Waldoboro; grandsons, Josh Noyes and wife Kim of Colorado Springs, Col., and Jeremy Noyes of Englewood, Col.; great-grandson, Carver Rife of Claypool, Ind.; brother, Arvine Orff and wife Elsie of Connecticut; sisters, Leona Esancy of Camden, Rayetta Simmons and husband Neil of Waldoboro, Pat Cross and husband Francis of Waldoboro, Judy Westman and husband Ron of Garland, and Darlene Hale and husband Tom of Washington; beloved best friend, Esther Dawson of Waldoboro; and beloved dog, Bella.
