Cheryl Ann Jenkin, 53, of Jefferson, died Feb. 9 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. She was born May 8, 1959 in Freehold, N.J. to Leonard and Elda Lewis Smith. She grew up in Marlboro, N.J. and attended local schools.
She worked for Adams Spence making medical products in Wall Township, N.J. She was devoted to her family and her family was her life. She and her husband hosted several pig roasts to raise money for M.S. and Iraq veterans’ families. Cheryl visited Maine with her husband 31 years ago and her dream was to move to Maine permanently. Her dream came true six years ago when they moved to Jefferson. She enjoyed her mornings at home drinking coffee and doing crossword puzzles. She was loved by all of her friends.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas L. Jenkin of Jefferson; daughters, Alicia Jenkin of Jackson, N.J., and Dawn Jenkin of Jersey City, N.J.; brothers, Leonard Smith and wife Joan of Pennsylvania, and Dale Smith and wife Lori of Jackson, N.J.; sister, Sharon Wilcox of Hunlock Creek, Penn.; many nieces and nephews; and family friend, Benjamin Benedetti of Jefferson.
The family will have a gathering in the spring.
