Mr. Chester Paul Woodburn, 68, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away May 10 at his home. Chester was born in Boston, Mass. to the late George and Mary E. Gaffney Woodburn on April 13, 1946.
He moved to the state of Maine at the age of three months. The class of 1965 was proudly displayed on his class ring as he graduated from Wiscasset High School. Mr. Woodburn served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1969 as a Jet Mechanic Technician Specialist.
Starting in 1973, he worked for Bath Iron Works as a crane operator until ill health in 2000 which led to retiring and relocating to Florida.
Chester was a member at Morning Star Masonic Lodge #41 A.F. & A.M. in Litchfield and the Morocco Shrine Temple Jacksonville, Fla. Chet was an active member of the Maine citizen’s band radio channel 16 under the handle “Camel.”
Passions included hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and stock car racing.
He was preceded in death by brother, James T. Doucett.
He leaves behind his longtime loving companion, Arleen G. Kimball of Zephyrhills, Fla.; daughters, Rayel L. Brigham (Timothy) of Chipley, Fla., and Chetney M. Dudzic (Marcus) of Wauwatosa, Wis.; brother, George W. Woodburn of Waterville; honorary son, Edward A. Bragdon (Judith) of Tampa, Fla.; honorary grandchildren, Anabella Bragdon and Lily A. Bragdon; niece, Renee D. Bagnal (Hancel) of Columbia, S.C.; nephews, Raymond M. Doucett (Glenda) of Columbia, S.C., and James M. Doucett (Kimberly) of Boca Raton, Fla.
Mr. Woodburn will be placed at Bushnell National Cemetery at a later date.
