Christina Maria Overeem, 96, of Edgecomb, passed away on Aug. 18 at Miles Memorial Hospital. She was born in Amsterdam, Holland on June 2, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Christina Shreyer Overeem. She grew up in Clifton, N.J. and graduated from Clifton High School.
Christina worked as a bookkeeper for over 40 years in New York, Michigan and Pennsylvania retiring in 1982 from Dell Products in New Jersey after 20 years of service.
Christina loved to sew, she made most of her own clothes, and she enjoyed dancing and reading mystery novels.
She is survived by her two nephews, John Penhaker and wife Marsha of Westport Island and Thomas Overeem of Maryland.
At her request there will be no services.
