Christopher A. Bailey, 42, of Woolwich, died Dec. 21 at his mom’s residence in Wiscasset with his family by his side.
He was born in Bath on Oct. 27, 1972, a son of James A. and Madelyn L. (McIntire) Bailey. He attended Wiscasset schools and graduated from Wiscasset High School in 1991. Chris was employed at Bob’s Exxon in Wiscasset and later by Tom Foss Painting in Wiscasset, Dale Hunt Painting, Pro Auto Body in Wiscasset, and Diamond Snow Plow in Nobleboro. In the late 90s he became a self-employed painter working in the mid coast area. He married Shannon K. Smith and they resided in Woolwich.
Chris enjoyed fishing on Moosehead Lake, camping, fireworks, and especially spending time with his daughter and family.
He was predeceased by his father, James A. Bailey on Aug. 13, 2001.
Chris is survived by daughter, Violet Lynn Bailey of South Bristol; mother, Madelyn Bailey of Wiscasset; brothers, James S. Bailey and wife Pamela Brawn of Jefferson, Mark Bailey of Wiscasset, and Stephen Bailey of Danforth; nieces, Bonnie Bailey, Camden White, and Lindsey White; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be 10 a.m., Sat., Dec. 27 at the Woolwich Wiscasset Baptist Church on Route 1 in Woolwich. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be in the spring at Murphy Corner’s Cemetery in Woolwich.
