Claire L. Lizotte, 88, of Biddeford, died Oct. 21 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a brief illness. She was born on Dec. 10, 1924 in South Hadley Falls, Mass., the daughter of Maurice J. and Lillian P. Cordes Connelly. She was educated in Massachusetts and Biddeford schools.
During WWII she worked as an electrician at the Boston Navy Yard in Charlestown, Mass.
On Dec. 22, 1943 she married Raymond A. Lizotte in Boston, Mass. After the war she and her husband moved to Biddeford.
Mrs. Lizotte was a homemaker. She served as troop leader for Biddeford Girl Scouts for several years. She was a member of the 50 Plus Club and for the past six years she volunteered 2800 hours at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. A loving wife and mother she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed constantly remodeling her home, flower gardening, oil painting and wintering in Florida for 15 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond A. Lizotte on Jan. 11, 2006.
Surviving are sons, Richard R. Lizotte and wife Fern of Biddeford, and Robert A. Lizotte and wife Deborah of Biddeford; daughters, Jeanne Brock and husband William of Londonderry, N.H., and Kathleen Simmonds and husband Scott of Saco; 10 grandchildren including Patrick Lizotte of Newcastle; 15 great-grandchildren including Kaylin and Benjamin Lizotte of Newcastle; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m., Fri., Oct. 25 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Sat., Oct. 26 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.
