Clayton E. Hallowell, 56, of Jefferson, died unexpectedly Feb. 2 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta.
He was born in Jefferson, July 27, 1951, the son of Elwin Hallowell and Nettie (Marshall) Hallowell.
Clayton served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by Williams Stamm Paving of Cromwell, Conn. for 15 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Stanley Hallowell and Douglas Hallowell.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Louise (Preneta) Hallowell of Jefferson; daughter, Tammy Albinus of Pennsylvania; step-daughter, Marie Yitchinski of Connecticut; stepson, Louis Yitchinski of North Carolina; brothers, Walter Hallowell of Coopers Mills and David Hallowell of Somerville; sister, Linda Cookson of Hallowell; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother-in-law, Don Preneta and wife Janice of Rocky Hill, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Mon., Feb. 4 at Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Rd., Rt. 32, Windsor, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tues., Feb. 5. Spring burial will be at Shepherd Cemetery, Jefferson.
