Clyde Scott Campbell, 91, of Waldoboro, died Nov. 23, 2016 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Clyde was born in Bath, N.H., on Nov. 10, 1925, the son of Louis E. and Vivian (Scott) Campbell. He was a graduate of Bath High School, Class of 1943. He enlisted in the Air Force receiving his pilot wings in August of 1945. He retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1979 with the rank of Major.
Following the war he was employed by the State of Maine Motor Vehicle Division in Drivers Licensing. He later transferred to Motor Vehicle Investigations from which he retired in 1976 due to a heart condition.
He was predeceased by his only son he loved very much, Donald Clyde Campbell in 2011.
He was survived by his wife, Ada Smalley Campbell; daughter-in-law Robyn R. Campbell; and granddaughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Renee Campbell.
There will be a graveside service with full military honors on Sunday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at the Seiders Cemetery, 2754 Friendship Rd. in Waldoboro.
