Colin A. Hall, 68, of North Newcastle, passed away at his home on May 19 with his family by his side. He was born on June 13, 1943 in Damariscotta, the son of James and Thelma Reeves Hall.
He attended local schools, and in 1960 enlisted in the Navy, serving two years in the reserves, two years active duty, and two years inactive duty. After returning to civilian life, he worked as a carpenter for several years. He later went to work at Bath Iron Works and remained there until he retired after 30 years.
He married his wife Marcia Campbell on Feb. 22, 1965. They resided in North Newcastle where they raised their daughter and son.
Besides the time he enjoyed with his family, he loved spending free time hunting, fishing, raising a large garden every year and four-wheeling. A camp in Cherryfield, owned and shared by three families, his brother Jimmy, Arthur Dalton and himself, was where the family spent many happy, fun-filled weekends and vacations.
He was predeceased by his parents; niece, Shelly Oliver; sisters-in-law, Judy Campbell Grover and Janice Harriman Campbell; and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marcia; daughter, Stacy Day and husband Sean of Alna; son, Colin “Arnie” Hall Jr. and wife Jana of Jefferson; grandchildren, Jason Perkins and companion Katie Kilduff, Meaghan Day, Maia, and Trevor Hall; great-grandchildren, Alicia, Kayla and Krystal Perkins; sisters, Judy Cheney and husband Bruce and Molly Oliver and husband Ernie; brother, Jimmy Hall and wife Joan; brothers-in-law, Neil Campbell and wife Lynne and Sammy Campbell and wife Rosemary; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service 11 a.m., Tues., May 29 at the Alna Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Alna Fire Station.
