Conrad Walter Miller, 88, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30 at Country Manor in Coopers Mill, where he had been a resident for the past five years.
He was born in Waldoboro on April 20, 1924, the son of the late Edwin G. and Ruby Walter Miller. A lifelong resident of Waldoboro, he attended Waldoboro schools. He owned and operated his own sawmill on the site of his grandfather’s water powered mill. This was especially important to him, as his grandfather had taught him this trade. He also worked for Burnheimer and Weston as well as Mank’s Stave Mill.
He was a member of the Waldoboro United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Eleanor Payne; and brothers, William and Gerald Miller.
He is survived by a son, Ronald Miller and wife Kathy of Waldoboro; granddaughter, Heather Emerson and husband Peter of Waldoboro; grandson, Ronald Miller Jr. and companion Caitlin of Waldoboro; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Clarissa Achorn of Casco, Elizabeth Sproul of Waldoboro, and Adelaide Weymouth of West Gardiner.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Rural Cemetery in Waldoboro.
