Constance T. “Connie” Pitcher, 89, of Rockland, formerly of Wiscasset and Damariscotta, died July 29 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.
Born in Boothbay Harbor, Sept. 6, 1916, she was the daughter of James and Jennie Enos Tibbetts.
She was educated in local schools and a 1934 graduate of Boothbay High School.
On Dec. 11, 1937, she married John Ormand Pitcher in Edgecomb. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother.
Since moving here in 1995, Mrs. Pitcher first resided in Owls Head, then moved to the Methodist Conference Home in 2002. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Methodist Conference Home, and her membership in the Knit-Wits.
Mrs. Pitcher was predeceased by her husband in 1984, and a son, Weston T. Pitcher, in 1982.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, John O., Jr. and Brenda Pitcher of South Harpswell, Waldo L. and Jeanette Pitcher of Wiscasset, and Stephen D. and Carolyn Pitcher of Wiscasset; one daughter, Deborah A. McKenney and husband Reed of Owls Head; two brothers, John Tibbetts of Burlington, Conn., and Joseph E. Wescott and wife Lorraine of New Holland, Penn.; sister-in-law, Viola King of Bristol; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service 10 a.m., Tues., Aug. 1 at Highland Cemetery, Dodge Rd., Edgecomb. Pastor Walter Henderson will officiate.
