Constance Thornton Sitzer, 75, of Jupiter, Fla. and Becket, Mass., (formerly Kellar of Duxbury, Mass. and Pemaquid), died in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Oct. 9 after a brief illness.
She was born in 1933 in Newton, Mass. and graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School. She attended Academe Moderne in Boston, Mass., Westbrook Junior College and Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. In 1953 she married Kirby D. (Cookie) Kellar (deceased 1989) and resided in Duxbury, Mass. until moving to Pemaquid in 1985. She taught pre-kindergarten and elementary school in Duxbury and Pembroke, Mass. She spread love, hope and kindness with unbridled humor, boundless generosity of spirit, and the power of example.
She is survived by her loving husband Richard E. Sitzer; two daughters, Margo Kellar of Portland and Stephanie Kellar of Brookline, Mass.; two grandchildren, Orion Wainer of Jamaica Plain, Mass. and Corinne Wainer of Miami Beach, Fla.; many step children, step grandchildren, family and friends.
Memorial service 11 a.m., Mon., Oct. 13, at Jupiter First Church, 1475 Indian Creek Parkway, Jupiter, Fla. Burial will be private in Pemaquid at a later date.
