Cynthia Helen Grady Vigue, of Gardiner, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 18.
She was born on July 17, 1925 in Whitefield, a daughter of John and Albertine Grady.
Cynthia graduated from Central Maine Beauty School, Augusta and earned her State of Maine Cosmetology License, working for many years as a cosmetologist at D.W. Adams followed by owning her own salon in North Whitefield for many years before retiring.
Cynthia was a past member of the Eastern Star of Wiscasset and The Women’s Guild of the First Baptist Church of Gardiner. She was an avid seamstress, gardener, bird watcher, bowler, and in her younger years she loved to hunt and go dancing.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Albertine Grady; siblings, Darryl, Robert, Charles, and George Grady, Violet Weymouth, and Eunice Weeks; husbands, Leslie Plummer, Laurence Weston, and Paul Vigue; son-in-law, Thomas B. Kerns; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is survived by daughter, Gail A. Kerns-Dube and husband John T. of Jay; granddaughters, Angela M. Cyr and husband Joey of Monmouth and Heidi J. Marshall and husband Matthew of Gardiner; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Cyr, Nicholas B. Cyr, Olivia P. Marshall, Heather A. Cyr, Hannah M. Marshall, and Gabriel J. Marshall; great-great-granddaughter, Sarah N. Truman; sister, Beulah M. Madden; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held 1-2 p.m., Fri., Jan. 23 at the First Baptist Church in Gardiner followed by a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. with a reception after the services at the church.
The funeral arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, Gardiner.
