Cynthia Louise Williams, 81, passed away Dec. 21 at St. Andrews Hospital, Boothbay Harbor.
Mrs. Williams was born in East Boothbay, Aug. 26, 1916, the daughter of Richard and Vera E. Reed Alley. She attended Boothbay schools and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School, class of 1944.
Cynthia met and married Carl B. Williams, Sr. in March of 1944 and they made their home in Trevett.
In the early 1960’s, she started working for J. Edward Knight Insurance Co. where she worked until her retirement in 1985.
She was a life member of Crescent Chapter # 54 Order of the Eastern Stars where she was a Past Matron.
She was caregiver for her mother and father at her home until their deaths.
Cynthia was a very independent grandmother. She enjoyed reading and staying home with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Williams, Sr. and sister, Hilda Lewis.
She is survived by son, Carl B. Williams, Jr. and wife Jane of Southport; daughters, Constance Reed and husband Omer of Boothbay Harbor, and Ann Reed and husband Robin of Boothbay; brother, Richard Alley of Boothbay; grandchildren, Carey Eggen and husband Rusty of Worchester, Mass., Jennifer Whitney and husband Michael of Boothbay, Elizabeth Winslow and husband Adam of Hollis, Heather Wilcox and husband Michael of Nobleboro, and Rachel Reed of Manchester, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Maren Whitney of Boothbay, Emily Winslow of Hollis, Chase Eggen of Worchester, Mass., and MacKenzie Wilcox of Nobleboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation 6-8 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 27, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. at Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay.
Graveside service noon, Fri., Dec. 28 at Evergreen Cemetery, Boothbay with Rev. Sarah Folger officiating.
