Cynthia L. Sellew, 64, of Dresden, passed away April 20 at Midcoast Hospital in Bath.
She was born in Glen Cove, N.Y. Oct. 14, 1943, the daughter of Raymond C. Jr. and Evelyn (Foster) Kahler. She and her husband, George Sellew, Jr. moved to Maine from Massachusetts in 1979 and bought the Journey’s End Farm and the Dresden Family Inn, in Dresden. They raised Percheron draft horses and together, with their two daughters, loved the farm.
Cynthia was a long time member of the Dresden Historical Society, the Conservation Commission, and the Pine Grove Cemetery Association.
Mrs. Sellew was predeceased by her husband, George.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Heflin of Dresden and Holly Mayo and husband Peter of Dresden; brother, Raymond C. Kahler, III and wife Gail of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; half-brother, James Clark of Tampa, Fla.; and her three grandchildren, Peter Mayo, Jr., George Mayo, and C. Dallis Heflin.
Relatives and friends may visit at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta, 6-8 p.m., Thurs., April 24. Graveside service at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Dresden, 10 a.m., Fri., April 25.
