Cynthia Victoria Anderson, 86, of East Boothbay, left this world on Dec. 25, 2013, in Boothbay Harbor. She was born to Martin Somers Bradley and Fern (Tobin) Bradley, on Oct. 15, 1927, in Boston, Mass. Cynthia grew up in Wellesley, Mass. and graduated from Wellesley High School, then went on to attend Mount Ida Junior College, in Newton, Mass.
While living in Wellesley she worked many jobs, ultimately working as a secretary at Wellesley High School. Cynthia eventually moved to East Boothbay to be close to family. She worked in the home health care field as a CNA and was affectionately known by many as ‘Nanny.’
Cynthia loved to travel, and garden and enjoyed knitting and sewing, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her five
great-grandchildren.
There are so many unforgettable stories to tell and remember her by. She is loved, and will be missed and never forgotten.
Cynthia is survived by her daughters, Joyce Davis and husband Wayne of Wellfleet, Mass., and Susan Piercy Kelsey and husband Patrick of Nokomis, Fla.; brother, George Bradley of San Jose, Cal.; grandchildren, Tiffany Beers of Franconia, N.H., Ben Piercy of Nokomis, Fla., Jay Piercy of Yarmouth, Ebben Piercy of West Boothbay Harbor, and Janie Davis of Wellfleet, Mass.; and great-grandchildren, Julia Beers, Ava and Amelia Piercy, Anwyn Davis, and E. Sawyer Piercy.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 26 during the Fishermen’s Festival in East Boothbay Harbor. A time and place will be announced at a later date.
