Dagmar Doll, 92, of Portsmouth, N.H., passed away April 28.
She resided in Damariscotta in her younger years. She was born in Jefferson, the daughter of Stanley Banks and Hazel Taylor Banks Crocker.
Dagmar was always a hard worker, dedicated to providing for her four children. She was a woman of many talents, best known for her exceptional skills in the kitchen, which gave her some 30 years working as a renowned cook at Wellesley College.
It was at Wellesley that she met the love of her life, husband of 44 years, Albert “Minty” Doll. They enjoyed spending time together, taking walks, enjoying nature, traveling, and visiting family, always along with their much-loved poodles.
Dagmar always had a poodle on her lap. “Sugar,” accompanied Minty on his daily visits to the nursing home where Dagmar spent her last days. “Sugar” was great comfort to her.
Dagmar was predeceased by brother, Sheldon Crocker; sisters, Myrtna Jacobs, and Martha Jacobs; and son-in-law, Richard Burton.
She is survived by daughters, Vyenne Boynton and husband Perk of Brooksville, Fla., and Vyrell Burton of Bristol; sons, Vaughn Hathaway and wife Kay of Leominster, Mass., and Vyron Hathaway and wife Carol of Bowdoinham; grandchildren, Dean, Matt, Laury, Koi, Vaughn Jr., Debby, David, Rodney, Michael, Crystal, Beth, Teresa, Kimberly, and Stephanie; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Drury of East Hartford, Conn.; brothers, Lawrence Winslow and wife Edleen of Bethel, and William Crocker and wife Dollie of Litchfield; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sat., May 10 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 22 Water St., Brunswick.
