Dale F. Arsenault, 70, of Jefferson, died March 8 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Dale was born May 13, 1940 in Skowhegan to Andrew Arsenault Jr. and Irma Foster Arsenault. He was raised by his loving grandmother, Melinda Arsenault. He graduated from Bloomfield Academy in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army as a heavy equipment operator for the 10th Engineering Battalion. He was stationed in Fort Belvoir in Virginia, and Schweinfurt, Germany.
He worked as a foreman at Medomak Canning Company in Waldoboro, for Prock Marine, George A. Caldwell Company in Waldoboro as a truck driver and lastly as the office manager of Maine Water Works in Oakland. He was a member of the N.R.A.
Dale was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, boating, 4-wheeling and spending time in the north woods of Maine. Dale had a generous heart and nothing was more important to him than his family. He dedicated his life to his wife, Sally, and their daughters and their families. He was a man that always put others before himself.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sally Martin Arsenault of Jefferson; daughters, Michelle Welch and former husband Robert Welch of Whitefield and Cheryl Little and husband David of Nobleboro; brother, Wayne Arsenault of Connecticut; half sister, Raejean Carmichael of Norridgewock; half brothers, Robert Arsenault and Jerome Arsenault of Skowhegan; grandchildren, Leanna Bubier and husband Aaron of Nobleboro, Derek Little of Nobleboro, Caitlyn Little of Nobleboro and fiancé Troy Spinney, and Brittany and Joshua Welch of Whitefield; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Zachary Bubier of Nobleboro; special aunts and uncles, Rollins and Nathalie Arsenault, Francis and Loraine Arsenault, Olive Estes of Skowhegan and Sue Daigle of Illinois; special cousin, Leo Gould and wife Millie of Whitefield; brothers-in-law, Emmons Martin and wife Maria of Waldoboro and Charles Martin and wife Ann of Jefferson; and sister-in-law, Suzette Morang of Augusta and their families.
Graveside service will be held in the spring at the Fairview Cemetery in Jefferson.
