Dale Wayne Weaver, 67, of Jefferson, passed away on April 14 at Desert Cove Nursing Center, Chandler, Ariz. with his two daughters by his side. He was born July 28, 1940.
He came to Phoenix, Ariz. in December for winter as he has for the past 24 years and was soon diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. This was a courageous battle he fought right to the end.
Dale’s passion was his Buy-Sell-Trade business on Rt. 17. Passers-by were curious about his sale items and The Big Yellow Garage. He was in business for over 30 years. Dale owned a wood business for many years and was also employed by the late Raymond Mank of Bremen. In his teens, Dale worked with his brothers Duane and Daroyl running his father’s portable saw mill in Jefferson.
He is predeceased by his parents Herbert L. Weaver and Hazel M. Weaver (Huntington) and a son, Dale Weaver Jr. who died in infancy.
Dale is survived by two daughters, Shelley Velderrain and husband Mike, and Tanya Baldassini, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew and Logan Velderrain and Olivia Baldassini; brothers, Duane Weaver and wife Esther of Jefferson and Daroyl Weaver and wife Carol of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Dianne Groce and husband Phil of Union and Darlene Wilson of S. Jefferson; step-father, Francis Huntington of Jefferson; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held in the summertime in Maine. The date is to be determined.
