Darryl S. “Eli” Weeks, 63, of Whitefield, passed away March 6 at the VA Medical Center in Togus, after a brief illness with his wife and friends by his side.
Eli was born on Sept. 25, 1943, in Damariscotta, the son of Theodore and Eunice (Grady) Weeks.
Eli served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and for the last several years, owned and operated his own rubbish removal business.
Eli was known as a person that would do anything for anybody. He loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and four wheeling with the kids. He loved children and was good with them. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends in his pool room.
Eli was predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Joe, Richard, and Pete Weeks.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Patricia Weeks of Whitefield; stepson, Ronald Pooler and wife Lisa of Whitefield; grandsons, Ronnie Pooler and companion Jessica Symonds and her son Nathan of Randolph, Christopher and Anthony Pooler, both of Whitefield; brother, Raymond and wife Pauline of Whitefield; sister, Norma Parlin and husband Edward of Jefferson; nieces and nephews; and very special longtime friends, Dean Vigue and wife Jeannie of Whitefield.
There will be a burial in the spring at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
