David E. Cromwell, 60, of Westport Island, died March 26 at his home.
He was born on Feb. 13, 1951 in Bath, the son of Alfred L. and Barbara M. (Applebee) Cromwell.
David attended Westport Grammar and graduated from Wiscasset High School in 1970.
He was a member of the Lincoln Lodge #3 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge in Wiscasset.
David served in the National Guard in Gardiner and Bath from 1970 to 1978. He was a former member of the Board of Selectmen on Westport Island for several years.
Dave was a lifelong resident of Westport Island and worked many years as a carpenter. He also was a self-employed lobsterman on Westport Island.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the family camp in Lowell with family and friends.
Dave was predeceased by his parents; and grandparents, Edwin and Jennie Cromwell of Westport Island.
David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rita (Warner) Cromwell; brothers, Wayne Cromwell and wife Becky, Garry Cromwell and longtime companion Karen Webb, Dana Cromwell and Dennis Cromwell and wife Rhonda; sister, Brenda Bonyun and husband Paul, all of Westport Island; sisters-in-law, Laura Comeau and husband Robert of Westbrook and Jo Warner and husband Mark White of Woolwich; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends service 1 p.m., Sat., April 2 at the Westport Town Hall. Burial will take place in the family cemetery at a later date.
