David Wendel Hidden, 73, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 29. He was born on Sept. 15, 1938 in Georgetown, Mass., the son of the late Raymond and Sylvia Haynes Hidden.
While growing up he attended schools in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. After graduation from trade school he worked seven days a week to help support his family. He worked at Haverhill Gas, Industrial Cab Co. and Welders Supply, all in Essex, Mass. In the 1980s he began Hidden Enterprises and worked diligently to make sure that the services that he provided were of the best quality. He was a hard worker and dedicated to his craft and it was evident in his work. After living in Essex for over 30 years, he retired to Waldoboro in 2003.
When he was not working, he was an avid fan and participant of tractor pulls, winning various events. It was a hobby he enjoyed while he was living in Massachusetts and followed him to Maine.
Survivors include Janet Hidden; daughters, Sylvia Hidden-Kirker and husband Allan M. of Essex, Mass., and Karyn E. Hidden of Wenham, Mass.; sons, Kenneth D. Hidden of Essex, Mass., and Scott D. Hidden of Gloucester, Mass.; granddaughters, Karyn, Elizabeth and Sarah Kirker, Micheala Saunders, Cheyenne and Devyn Hidden, Brittani and Anika Croteau, and Samantha Gabrielli; great-grandchildren, Kyara Skye, Mason John, and Luca Salvatore; and cousin, June Parker.
At the request of the family no public services will be held.
