Dean A. Baker, 72, of Woolwich, died May 11 at Gosnell House in Scarborough.
He was born in Bath on April 23, 1945, a son of Sherwood B. and Etta May (Colby) Baker.
He attended Woolwich schools and Morse High School. He married Betsy Smith in 1963. He owned and operated Baker Concrete Foundations for 40-plus years along with his younger brother Lynn D. Baker in the early years of the business.
He enjoyed building storage sheds, playing cards, boating, feeding his turkeys and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed his Barracuda muscle car and fixing up homes.
He was predeceased by sister, Shirley Mae Page in 2016; and sister-in-law, Gert Baker in 2006.
He is survived by daughters, Dorraine Dewley and husband Truman of Freeport, and Barbara Greenleaf and husband Albert of Westport Island; brothers, Vance E. Baker of Woolwich, and Lynn D. Baker of Brunswick; sister, Faye A. Woodman and husband Rev. Wayne Woodman of Wiscasset; grandchildren, Marie Lopez, and Amanda Mackie; great-grandchildren, Kaden Lopez, and Kailee Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 p.m., Sat., May 20 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., May 21 at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
