Dean A. Verney, 50, of Brunswick, formerly of Sheepscott, passed away April 7 after a brief but tough battle with mesothelioma cancer at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
Dean grew up in Sheepscott village surrounded by lots of family and friends. He enjoyed swimming in the Sheepscott River from early spring until fall. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting by bow and gun, a love he passed on to his son. Dean loved the freedom of riding his motorcycle; he and his wife went on many rides together. Lots of people knew him for his dry walling abilities.
Dean is survived by wife, Erin Renae of Brunswick; son, Brent and companion Kristina and their daughter Willow of Jefferson; daughter, Kelsey and companion Justin and their son Cooper of South China; stepson, Ricky Savage of Brunswick; parents, Linda and James Verney of Sheepscott; sister, Ann Verney-Perrello and husband Donny and their son Jayson of Sheepscott; many cousins, friends, and co-workers; and his furry companion, his cat, Cookie.
Burial will be private with a celebration of his life being planned for a later date.
