Debra B. Annese, 61, of Litchfield, died Nov. 21 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta after a six-year battle with cancer.
She was born July 20, 1957 in Wiscasset, the daughter of Burton and Leatrice (Payne) Blackman. Debra grew up in Wiscasset and graduated from Wiscasset High School. She worked at the Lincoln County Jail as a corrections officer and later as the training officer. She went on to work at the Sagadahoc County Jail as a lieutenant, the Long Creek Youth Center and Training Coordinator at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in her most recent position.
Debra enjoyed hiking, boating, photography and travelling with her husband, Bob. She and Bob were married in 2008.
Debra is survived by her husband, Bob; sons, Brandon Andrews of Boothbay, Dustin Andrews of Bowdoinham, and Paul Andrews Jr. and companion Kirstie Blake of Wiscasset; brother, Kenneth Blackman and wife Diane of Wiscasset; sisters, Naomi Bonang of Wiscasset, Bonnie Waltz and her husband Arthur of Jefferson, and Kathy Dubord and husband Mason of Dresden; grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tues., Dec. 4 at Christ Church Episcopal, 2 Dresden Ave., Gardiner.
