Diane “Dee” Pike, 72, of Osceola, Ia. and formerly of Hobe Sound, Fla., passed away March 23 at her home in Osceola, Ia. with her family by her side. She was cremated and family services will be held in Maine at a later date.
Dee was born Oct. 8, 1934 in New York City, N.Y. She grew up in Port Washington Long Island, N.Y., where she received her education. She moved to Maine where she spent most of her life.
She had three children and five stepchildren, keeping her very active and busy. She was a stay at home mother who also found time to manage the Miles Memorial Coffee Shop. She moved to Hobe Sound, Fla. where she resided for 10 years before moving to Osceola, Ia. two years ago to be near her daughter, Polly.
Dee was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star when she lived in Maine. She enjoyed playing dominos and darts when living in Florida. Wherever she lived she loved to socialize and meet new friends. She loved her time with family and loved her cat, Mocha.
Dee leaves to cherish her memory, son, Peter Anthony McCullagh, wife Lori and two sons, Anthony and Aaron of Nobleboro; daughters, MaryAnn McCullagh of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Polly H. Busick and husband Shane of Osceola, Ia.; step-children, Ginny Willey and husband Paul of Bristol, Michael McFarland and friend Patty Bourguios of Gardner, Mass., Lisa Farrin of Boothbay Harbor, Lori Orne of Bristol, and Cheryl McFarland of Edgecomb; sister, Colleen Gisbon of Massachusetts; brothers, Will Gibson of Massachusetts, and John Gibson of New York; eight step-grandchildren, Brian, Brent, Sam, Beth, Ashley, Kristin, Mathew and Dylan; and other relatives and many friends.
She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa, Mt. Ayr Office, 107 S. Fillmore St., Mt. Ayr, IA 50854-1823.
