Doris Emogene Munro Rogers, 80, of Owls Head, died July 18 at Pen Bay Medical Center, Rockport.
Mrs. Rogers was born May 6, 1931 in Rockland, a daughter of the late Sidney F. and Eula B. (Stone) Munro.
On May 6, 1989 she married Freeman Rogers in Hallowell.
Mrs. Rogers was a member of West Rockport Baptist Church. Over the years she worked for Rockland Pants Factory, O’Haras Fish Factory, State Child Care and Home Child Care. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and cake decorating.
In addition to her husband of more than 20 years, who died May 20, 2009, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ralph F. Munro and sisters, Bernice A. McLain and Lucie L. McLain.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her son, Warren E. Dorr Jr. and wife Gloria of Warren; daughters, Norma J. Stanley and husband Maynard Jr. of Owls Head and Alison M. Field and husband Kevin of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sidney A. Munro and wife Marianna of Ruskin, Fla. and Richard D. Munro and wife Prescilla of Searsport; sisters, Norma J. Bridges and husband Stanley of Milo, Charlotte E. Flaherty and husband Roland of Warren, Laura M. Dudley of Rockland, Glenice B. Cuthbertson and husband Robert of Thomaston and Nancy E. Stonestreet and husband Robert of Silver Springs, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service to celebrate her life 11 a.m., Wed., July 27 at the West Rockport Baptist Church, 545 Park St., West Rockport (corner of Rt. 17 and Rt. 90).
