Doris Laemmle, 94, passed away at the Cove’s Edge Nursing Facility in Damariscotta on July 24. Born in New York City on May 16, 1916, Doris moved to Wiscasset from Upper Brookville, N.Y. in 1973, where she created a home which was always the center for family and friends.
Doris’ abundant creativity flourished in music, dance, painting, cooking and gardening. She will be remembered for her generous love, captivating smile, and wonderful humor by all of those whom Doris touched.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, David C. Laemmle.
She is survived by brother, George Dresing and wife Jeanette Dresing of White Mills, Penn.; children and their spouses, Katherine L. Garren and husband Bruce P. Garren of Damariscotta and Newport Coast, Cal., David G. Laemmle and wife Rebecca Tilden of Alna and Clare L. Bridge and husband Alexander Bridge of Tracadie, Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Jessica A. Garren, Katherine L. Laemmle and Samuel D. Laemmle; nephews, Bruce Gunther and Wayne Dresing, both of Pennsylvania; and niece, Diane Arigo of Connecticut.
