Doris Lecours Vachon, 86, of Portland, died April 25 at the Barron Center after a brief illness. She was born in Newcastle, a daughter of Charles E. and Sarah Brann Watson. She attended Newcastle schools and graduated from Lincoln Academy. She was employed by several businesses in the greater Portland area and retired from Union Mutual Insurance Company. She enjoyed reading, watching Nextel Auto Racing, and eating out with family members. She is survived by three sons, Edward H. Lecours of Windham, Stanley A. Lecours and partner Deborah of Portland, and Phillip Lecours of Garden Grove, Cal.; three daughters, Grace Newdick and husband Walter of Durham, Yvonne Chapman and partner Craig of So. Bristol, and Jean Masker and partner Al of Gorham; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by daughter, Linda Paul. Graveside memorial service 10:30 a.m., Tues., May 2 at Brooklawn Cemetery, Portland. Arrangements under the care of Chase Funeral Home, Westbrook.
