Dorothy Basile, 85, of Somerset, N.J. and Bremen, passed away July 26 at The Somerset Valley Home in Bound Brook, N.J.
Dorothy and her family visited the Bremen area in 1957 and for the next 51 years Bremen was her summer home. She was known for her wonderful stuffed animals and dolls that she made and was also known for her frog wall.
The frog wall is a stone wall that Dorothy built by herself from stones on the property. When finished she added a few frogs to top it off. Over the years frogs seemed to find their way to the wall. Friends and neighbors knew that when the frogs appeared the Basiles had arrived.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, William, and daughter, Caroline O’Conner.
She is survived by her son, William; daughter, Lisa Pearlman and husband Eric; along with grandchildren, Emily and Brent Pearlman.
Private services will be sometime in the fall in New Jersey.
