Dorothy “Dot” M. Barter, 76, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away Aug. 20 at the Gregory Wing in Boothbay Harbor.
She was born July 1, 1935 in Boothbay, the daughter of the late Amos F. Sr. and Phyllis Irene Barter.
Growing up in Boothbay, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Boothbay Harbor High School.
For over 30 years she was employed by Welch’s Convenient Store and worked as a clerk at the Village Store.
She was a lifetime member and Sunday school teacher of the Boothbay Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Evangeline Morgan, Edith Giles and Beatrice Blake; and brothers, Paul Barter and Amos Barter Jr.
Survivors include her sisters, Marjorie Lewis of West Boothbay Harbor and Gloria Brewer and husband Allen of Edgecomb; brother, Robert T. Barter and wife PattiJo of Edgecomb and Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Fri., Aug. 26 at Simmons, Harrington & Hall, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay. Celebration of Dot’s life 9 a.m., Sat., Aug. 27 at the Boothbay Baptist Church in Boothbay with Pastor Al Roberts officiating.
