Dorothy (Fago) Redemske, 92, passed away peacefully on Dec. 29 in Chatham, Mass. Dorothy lived with her daughter Sandra Redemske and her husband Robert Macks in Jefferson for over six years.
Born in Chicago, Ill., she attended local schools and in 1943 married Robert Redemske. A loving mother, she stayed at home to raise her family, using her creative talents to make a wonderful home. In 2007, Dorothy moved to Maine. She loved music and really enjoyed attending local musical events. Also, a member of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, she enjoyed visiting the gardens in all seasons. Dorothy had a gift of caring for others by keeping in touch with friends and relatives by sending many cards and letters.
She was predeceased by husband Robert; sisters, Mary Fago, and Wilma (Fago) Johnson; brothers, Louis Fago, Frank Fago, and Charles Fago; and grandson, Erik Redemske.
Dorothy is survived by children, Richard, Joyce Young, Gale (James) Morrow, Sandra (Robert Macks) Redemske, and John (Susan DeCloedt) Redemske; grandchildren, Barnaby (Leigh) Young, Gretchen (David) Caramiciu, Ben Young, Julia Redemske, Kirsten (Julie Elkins) Morrow, Katherine Morrow, Peter Morrow; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
