Dorothy Ford Greenlaw, of Dover-Foxcroft, passed away Dec. 28 at a local nursing home.
She was born in Bristol, the daughter of Melville N. and Grace (Seiders) Greenlaw.
Dot was educated in the Bristol school system, and received a B.S. in Education from Gorham State Teachers College, now part of the University of Maine system.
Throughout her teaching years, she touched the lives of thousands of students from their very first day of school; in doing so, she became a member of so many families. She taught for a total of 48 years in the schools of Maine.
She was an active member in numerous organizations, including the Miosac Club, the Thompson Free Library Association, the Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society, the Retired Teachers Association, and the Pemaquid Chapter of OES. She was a member of the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, as well as its Women’s Fellowship.
Dot was predeceased by her brothers, Jesse N. Greenlaw, and Robert B. Crowley.
Memorial service 1 p.m., Sun., Jan. 14 at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, with Rev. Heather Kurtz officiating.
