Duane A. Winchenbach, 45, of Damariscotta, died March 19 at his residence. He was born March 12, 1966 in Rockland to Eugene F. Winchenbach and Sylvia Doherty Winchenbach. Duane grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools.
He was a fisherman most of his life working out of New Bedford, Mass. He enjoyed digging clams, playing pool and cards. He also liked to build and craft miniature boats as a hobby. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Duane was a hard worker and would always go out of his way to help others.
Duane was predeceased by his brother, Corey Winchenbach.
He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Winchenbach of Waldoboro; father, Eugene Winchenbach and significant other Sharon Elliott of Waldoboro; son, Nick Winchenbach of Union; daughter, Kristina Simmons of Nobleboro; brothers, Stephen Winchenbach of Waldoboro and Scott Winchenbach of Waldoboro; fiancée, Stacy James of Damariscotta; and grandchildren, Jonathan and Zachary Winchenbach, both of Union.
Service to celebrate Duane’s life 1 p.m., Fri., March 25 at the Waldoboro Word of Life Church, 41 Old Route One, Waldoboro. Pastor Tom Rawley will officiate.
