Edgar J. Krebs, 88, of Boothbay, passed away Nov. 19 at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta. He was born Jan. 18, 1926 in Germany to Karl and Emma Krebs. He grew up in Germany and obtained a pastry chef education. He was an undefeated lightweight boxer. He was honored in Manhattan by his German Boxing Club for his impressive undefeated career 20 years ago.
He emigrated from Germany to the U.S. in 1952. He began work as a pastry chef in local bakeries and then worked for T.W.A. airlines for over 30 years as a chef. He enjoyed baking and he loved to make wedding cakes, Christmas cakes, cookies and pastries. He loved living in Boothbay enjoying the outdoors, and the ocean. He also enjoyed driving and visiting new places.
He was predeceased by his sister, Rita Bihler.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna Krebs of Boothbay; sons, Robert Krebs of Boothbay, and Dieter Krebs of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; daughter, Jane Krebs of Boothbay; and brother, Heinz Krebs of Germany.
